BRIEF EXPLANATION: This podcast is not the Horror Movie Podcast for which this site and feed are dedicated. Horror Movie Podcast is slated to release Episode 001 on October 25, 2013. You can read the full explanation and the background on the re-release of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast (and of Horror Metropolis) at the bottom of the show notes for this episode.
Here it is — the infamous Episode 024… This show is somewhat legendary among TWHMP fans: This is the episode that provokes an exasperated Midnight Corey to say things like, “Lord, take me home!” and “[This movie] was a huge hit at the Special Olympics.” Needless to say, we have some epic and passionate battles, starting right off the bat with a review of Dario Argento’s “Deep Red” (1975). This contentious review sets the tone for the rest of the episode, and it’s very entertaining, to say the least.
But at the top of the show, Midnight Corey begins by acknowledging the death of zombie novelist Z.A. Recht, author of The Morningstar trilogy, which includes Plague of the Dead: The Morningstar Strain, Thunder and Ashes and Survivors, which had to be finished by Thom Brannan. (Be sure to click the link below for Midnight Corey’s interview with Z.A. Recht.)
Next Midnight Corey sparks a conversation about our hosts’ opinions on 3-D and how it is affecting modern cinema and theater-going. (This episode is worth listening to for this discussion alone). And then we move into our four, hotly debated reviews.
The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast is hosted by Midnight Corey, along with his co-hosts BillChete, Dr. Shock and Terror Tovey. TWHMP is a weekly show where each host assigns a horror movie to another one of the hosts, round-robin style.

Thank you for listening, and join us again next Friday for another re-posting of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast.
Before releasing episodes of Horror Movie Podcast, I will be posting all the episodes of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast and Horror Metropolis every Friday. These 26 episodes of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast were originally posted on the Horror Palace Network between October 30, 2011 and April 22, 2012. The first 14 episodes were hosted by Jay of the Dead, who created the podcast. After Jay stepped down in January 2012, he turned the podcast over to Midnight Corey, who took the reins from Episodes 015 through 026. Also, Corey has graciously agreed to allow me to re-post these episodes here. Thanks, Corey!
All 26 episodes of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast will be posted on this site and in iTunes every Friday. The following week after Episode 026 is posted, we will commence posting all 10 episodes of Horror Metropolis, another podcast that initially aired on the Horror Palace Network between April 29, 2012 and July 2012. Horror Metropolis was also created and led by Jay of the Dead.
On January 31, 2013, Horror Palace stopped hosting all audio podcasts, so until now, neither The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast nor Horror Metropolis was available for download anymore. But Jay of the Dead (the host of the forthcoming Horror Movie Podcast) is very proud of these 36 horror podcasts, and he feels that this is premium horror content that should continue to be available to horror fans everywhere.
Therefore, if you subscribe to Horror Movie Podcast, you’ll receive all the episodes of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast, Horror Metropolis and in late October, you’ll be able to hear the debut of Horror Movie Podcast.
Much of the timely content and many of the links mentioned during these episodes are no longer active. Therefore, we will only be posting current information and not the defunct links mentioned during these episodes.
We hope you enjoy these horror podcasts as much as we do. Thanks for listening.
